RF Microneedling: Precision Skin Resurfacing & Tightening in Billericay

Radio Frequency (RF) Microneedling with Focus Dual

If your skin feels rougher, thinner, or less even than it used to — or you’re noticing enlarged pores, fine lines, acne scarring, or a general loss of skin quality — you’re not alone. These changes are often signs of declining collagen and skin structure, something that even the best skincare products can’t fully correct.

At Skin Enhance & Wellness, we offer a medical-grade solution to these concerns. Radio Frequency (RF) Microneedling using the Lynton Focus Dual® is considered the gold standard for skin remodelling. By combining the precision of microneedling with the deep-reaching heat of radiofrequency, this treatment works from the inside out to help reset skin texture, soften deep scars, and tighten laxity at a structural level.

We are proud to be the first and only clinic in Billericay to offer this advanced treatment using the Lynton Focus Dual system, delivered through a medically-led, tailored approach designed around your skin, your goals, and your stage of life.

What Is Radio Frequency Microneedling?

Radio Frequency (RF) microneedling is an advanced skin treatment designed to improve skin texture, firmness, and overall quality by stimulating collagen production deep within the skin.

During treatment, ultra-fine needles create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, triggering a natural wound-healing response. At the same time, radio frequency energy is delivered through the needles into the dermis — the layer responsible for collagen and elastin. This heat energy enhances the repair process, leading to stronger collagen formation and a tightening effect that continues to develop over the following weeks.

At Skin Enhance & Wellness in Billericay, we use the Lynton Focus Dual® system, which allows radio frequency energy to be delivered at precise depths for accurate, controlled treatment. Its suction-assisted technology gently draws the skin into the handpiece, ensuring the energy is delivered exactly where it is needed before releasing the skin. This level of precision helps improve results while reducing the risk of unwanted side effects.

Unlike traditional microneedling, RF microneedling works deeper within the skin, making it particularly effective for concerns such as acne scarring, enlarged pores, uneven texture, fine lines, and early skin laxity. Improvements continue to build over 6–12 weeks as new collagen and elastin are produced, resulting in smoother, firmer, more resilient skin.

What Can Radio frequency Microneedling Help With in Billericay?

Radio Frequency microneedling is ideal for improving overall skin quality, particularly when concerns sit deeper than the surface of the skin. At Skin Enhance & Wellness in Billericay, this treatment is commonly chosen for:

Acne scarring and post-inflammatory marks

Enlarged or visible pores

Uneven skin texture and roughness

Fine lines and early signs of ageing

Mild skin laxity and loss of firmness

Dull, thinning, or tired-looking skin

By stimulating collagen and elastin within the dermis, radio frequency microneedling helps strengthen the skin from within, leading to smoother, firmer, and more resilient skin over time. Rather than changing how your face looks, the focus is on improving how your skin behaves — healthier, stronger, and better supported.

Why I Chose the Lynton Focus Dual® System

Choosing the right device for radiofrequency microneedling is crucial for both safety and results. I selected the Lynton Focus Dual® system because Lynton is a UK-based medical manufacturer with over 25 years’ experience, supplying technology to the NHS and medical aesthetic clinics.

What sets this device apart is its integrated suction technology, which gently lifts the skin into the handpiece. This not only ensures the radio frequency energy is delivered at the correct depth and precise target point, but also reduces discomfort for the patient. Each treatment uses a single-use needle cartridge containing 25 surgical-grade fine needles, and the stamping method ensures the surface of the skin is protected while the energy penetrates deeply, minimising the risk of damage.

For me, precision, proper training, and strict adherence to protocol are non-negotiable. The Focus Dual allows me to deliver RF microneedling safely, predictably, and effectively under a medically-led approach.

Which Course is Right for Me?

Course of 6: Recommended for more significant skin concerns, including acne scarring, surgical scars, stretch marks, and advanced “crepey” skin or deep wrinkles.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is RF microneedling different from traditional microneedling?
RF microneedling is an advanced version of the traditional treatment. It combines the mechanical stimulation of ultra-fine needles with Radio Frequency heat delivered directly into the dermis. This dual approach triggers the skin’s natural healing process while stimulating deeper collagen and elastin production for more significant, longer-lasting results than standard microneedling alone.
How does Radio Frequency microneedling differ from HIFU?
The primary difference is the depth and target. RF microneedling targets the dermis to improve skin texture, acne scarring, pore size, and fine lines. HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) targets the deeper SMAS layer for structural lifting. At our Billericay clinic, we often find these treatments complement each other perfectly to address both skin quality and sagging.
What areas can be treated at the Billericay clinic?
The most common areas include the face and neck. We can also treat select body areas such as the abdomen or arms for scars, stretch marks and skin laxity. All treatment areas are personalised by Dr. Tash during your initial consultation.
How many treatments will I need for the best results?

Most patients at Skin Enhance & Wellness see optimal results after a course of 3–6 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart. However, deep acne scarring or advanced skin aging may require additional sessions.

Is RF microneedling painful?

We prioritise your comfort. While the suction-assisted technology of our Focus Dual® system significantly reduces discomfort, a topical numbing cream is applied to ensure the experience is as painless as possible.

What is the downtime after a session?

Downtime is minimal. Mild redness, warmth, or slight swelling is common immediately after your treatment and usually resolves within 24–72 hours. Most patients find they can return to work and apply mineral makeup the following day, though some patients may experience mild micro-peeling for up to a week.

When will I see the results of my RF microneedling?
While your skin may look “glowing” shortly after, the true transformation appears gradually over 6–12 weeks. This is the time it takes for your body to naturally produce a new, stronger collagen and elastin matrix.

Is RF microneedling safe for all skin types?

Yes. One of the greatest benefits of the Focus Dual® system is that it is safe and effective for all skin types, including darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick 4-6), as it does not target pigment in the same way some lasers do.

However, your safety is our priority. For certain darker skin types, Dr. Tash may recommend that you start a potent pigment suppression skincare regime for several weeks before beginning your RF microneedling sessions. This preparation helps to “stabilise” the skin’s pigment-producing cells and prevent complications such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. This bespoke approach would be fully discussed with you during your comprehensive consultation and digital skin analysis.

Can Radio Frequency microneedling treat acne scars as well as surgical scars?

Yes, absolutely. RF microneedling is one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for both acne and surgical scarring. While traditional microneedling creates surface-level channels, the Lynton Focus Dual® delivers heat energy deep into the dermis where scar tissue is formed.

  • For Acne Scars: The treatment is particularly successful for atrophic (depressed) scars like boxcar and rolling scars. The needles break up the tough, fibrous bands of old scar tissue, while the Radio Frequency heat stimulates the production of new, healthy collagen to “fill in” the depressions from beneath.

  • For Surgical & Injury Scars: It helps to remodel the thick, irregular collagen found in surgical scars. By creating controlled micro-injuries and delivering thermal energy, we can soften the texture of the scar and help it blend more naturally with the surrounding skin.
During your consultation, Dr. Tash will assess the age and depth of your scarring. For deep or tethered scars, a slightly more intensive course of treatments may be recommended to achieve the smoothest possible finish.
Can RF microneedling be combined with other treatments?

Yes. It can be safely combined with treatments such as chemical peels, skin boosters, and certain HIFU treatments to enhance overall rejuvenation. Dr. Tash will design your personalised plan based on your specific goals.

How long do the results last?

Results are long-lasting as the treatment remodels your actual skin structure. However, because the natural ageing process continues, we recommend maintenance treatments annually to sustain your skin quality and firmness.

Who is not suitable for RF microneedling?

While RF microneedling is safe for the majority of patients, there are certain conditions where the treatment would not be recommended. Suitability is always confirmed during your medical consultation with Dr. Tash.

You may not be suitable for this treatment if you:

  • Are Pregnant or Breastfeeding: As a medical precaution, we do not perform Radio Frequency treatments during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

  • Have Metal Implants: This includes pacemakers, internal defibrillators, or metal plates/pins in the specific treatment area (as the RF energy can interact with metal).

  • Have Active Skin Infections: This includes active cold sores, active acne, or open wounds in the area to be treated.

  • Are taking certain medications: Such as Roaccutane (within the last 6–12 months) or certain blood-thinning medications.

  • Have a history of Keloid scarring: As the microneedling process could potentially trigger unwanted scar formation.

  • Have an impaired immune system: Or conditions that slow down the body’s natural healing process.

If you have any specific medical concerns, Dr. Tash will review your history during your comprehensive skin consultation to ensure that RF microneedling is the safest and most effective path for your skin journey.
